Cooperative Remote Labs Virtual Campus for Higher Education in Industrial Engineering
Project Goal

"Remotification" of lab exercises dealing with physical test rigs and simulations.

Lab exercises are one of the key elements for engineering students to comprehend through the application in actual situations of fundamental concepts and to analyze, synthesize, and make judgments based on evidence.

The role of new e-learning tools that use blended and distance learning methodologies is rapidly increasing in the university educational process, especially when facing extraordinary circumstances of global pandemic situations or other limitations for students' physical presence on campus.

Our idea of Lab Exercises "Remotification":

Providing remote access to lab exercises should be a streamline process, so the teachers, familiar with LabVIEW*, should be able to implement and support it.

Remote Labs in RemLab project were developed using NI LabVIEW and G-Web development software. The development templates and guidelines are available for download  (free of charge).

* "remotification" of lab exercises implies that the lab rig is already (or could be) sufficiently automated using LabVIEW or (in case automation is implemented not in LabVIEW) could be interconnected with LabVIEW
